The Only House Warming Gifting Inspo You'll Ever Need!

Gifting is HARD. It's filled with anxiety and manic-panic, hun you were only going about your day to day, minding your own and then, suddenly, you get *that* message- "we've got our first home!" well, shit.

Your mind starts to scramble in all sorts of directions; "what can I buy?" , "will they like/use it?" , "will someone else buy the same?" , "is it enough?" ugh.

As someone who flew the nest almost 2 years ago and got her first place with her boyfriend, I can tell you straight up the most perfect gifts! The ones we can't get enough of especially and the ones we really do need and may not realise right away. Are you currently in search of a house warming gift? Or are you on the other side looking for a guide you can give others asking what to buy? You've come to the right place!

1. B&M GIFT CARD

If about 5 others bought the exact same thing? Trust me, we are definitely BUZZING! B&M, Home Bargains and The range respectively, they're about to become our new bff's and we may not even realise just how much! Honestly huns, the amount of ££ I have spent in these 3 shops on the MONTHLY... geees. This in my humble opinion, is the most perfect gift. It's ranking first because it is my no.1 gifting idea. Your giving them not only a straight forward, hassle-free, easy to sort gift, but your also letting them choose what they want to get with it, it's a win-win for both. These kind of shops are how we make our house, a home!

2. IKEA OR AMAZON GIFT CARD

Extension of the suggestion above that needed it's own breathing space, an Ikea or amazon voucher is also a gift idea you really can't go wrong with. It's easy to sort it, you don't have to worry about if they'll like it and you can rest assured they'll definitely use it. The b&m gift card is all about those furnishings and finishing touches were as Ikea and amazon is all about those main items. Regardless of whether you opt for 1 or 2, they'll be happy for sure!

3. TOOL KIT

Yip- a seemingly boring, adulting gift however, insanely practical. When you move into your first home, a tool kit is the last thing on your mind... right up until you realise you have a shit tonne of flatpack furniture to build and no screwdriver- the realisation pain is real. It's perhaps more of a "thinking outside the box" gift, and the recipients of said gift may not completely realise how much they're going to be thankful for this in the near future at first, but boy will they be singing your praises real soon! A tool kit with the basics such as; A mini hammer, screwdriver, pliers, measuring tape is ideal. An all round, super practical gift.

4. STEAM MOP

Yup- another serious "Hey btw, you're an adult now!" gift but a game changer one at that! I honestly don't know what my life - or my flat - would be like without one. There are so many options for steam mops out there, but I found an amazing multi-use one online that has different attachments that you can use for the general mop, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, grout cleaner- you name it! It can switch from mop to a more hand-held device... all for just £30! It's a practical gift, what I consider to be a "home gadget" and a very good gift idea especially if the person you're gifting it to, is family.

5. CLEANING HAMPER

If you like a more personal and creative gift, this is for you! That first week of moving in is seriously stressful and just as equally messy. You have dust everywhere, paint, the house looks like a squatters paradise in that first month whilst you get your floors, walls and furniture sorted *shivers* They will probably need to clean more than ever in that first month due to all the goings on and either they'll find themselves stressed AF, buying cleaning products as they go along when they realise they need them or they run out of them- fast. A cleaning hamper is so thoughtful if it's for a girl and if it's for a boy? Encouraging! He can't argue he doesn't know how to clean anymore can he?! hehe xo

5. JUST ASK!

This is - arguably - a state the obvious suggestion okay, but a truthful one. If your unsure of what to get them and panicking they'll hate it? Ask them what they're needing. They may be modest and say nothing, and in that case the above suggestions will save the day! However if they appreciate and value others help, they'll tell you. Asking shows you care about this next chapter in their lives, there is zero harm in it so don't feel it's lazy to do so, you just want to get it right for them and that's special!

*BONUS* - IF IT'S A FLAT? CLOTHES AIR DRYER!

Some who live in a flat may have a communal garden space however, others like myself, don't have that blessing *sobs* There are only so many radiators in a home and if you want clothes to dry quickly, they are going to need to have that heating up full blast and that my friends, is deadly. My air dryer has been a LIFE SAVER. Hang all your washing up inside, zip it up and crank that bad boy up and in about 1-2 hours? Your clothes are good to go. It's 100% giving those "tell me you live in a flat without telling me you live in a flat" vibes. I highly recommend this, especially if you are gifting to family.

Also side note- I didn't even know these things existed! And your new home owner, might not know there's a solution to their soon to be problem either. We only save lives here, huns.

Happy gift shopping!
