P.Louise "If The Crown Fits" Palette Review!

Okay if you haven't seen a glimpse of, or heard a peep about this palette... where have you been?? Wherever it was, I really hope it was worth it however, I promise you babe, things are just about to get even better anyway!

P.Louise, known as the powerhouse behind *that* iconic eye primer that literally took the world by the most sassiest storm, is the brand that just keeps on giving. Arguably, one of the most aesthetically pleasing brands in the market today, they really are showing brands how to you can hit the mark with the fine details, whilst also hitting the mark with your price point. Showing everyone and their granny that details do not have to equal more cost to us consumers!

Now, serious blogger chat out the way... believe me when I tell you that ya gal was absolutely BUZZIN' for this parcel and babe, she did NOT disappoint in her sassy arrival. Arriving in the stunning P.Louise packaging the brand is known for like, seriously, I feel quite emotional about chucking it in the blue bin after it's too cute to end this way!!

In this blog, I am going to help you beauts out on what to expect from this palette to determine if it's the right 'fit' for you by breaking down the product into the following-

*Fyi babe, this review is in no way sponsored, they don't know I exist! I'm just really this enthusiastic ok x

THE PACKAGING

If you have ever ordered something from P.Louise then you will know there is nothing basic about them! Paige Louise - the beauty behind the brand - has not missed a single detail when it comes to their outer packaging. Getting this beauty delivered to your door just instantly cheers you up! Bonus points for when you open the packaging and your met with your palette being inside a clear, secure protector thingy (ok I have no clue what this is called I want to say bubblewrap but it doesn't have bubbles?? ehhh....)

For me, protecting the palette that little bit more and not just sending it in it's OG box (which you can see pictured below) is a really big thing for me. It shows this isn't just another parcel to them, it's literally a gift, a little bit of luxury, an experience.

The palette box, just like it's outer box, does not do details in half measures and I am HERE FOR IT, huns! I honestly think this is the most aesthetically pleasing box I've ever seen in my life, like you'd really struggle to bin this it's just so frickin' cute?? It just builds this whole hype for the actual palette inside like, okay packaging I see you girl; Bad B level- 100!

You really have got to give it to their creative team, boss babes!

"If The Crown Fits" - At First Glance!

When you finally stop obsessing over the outer packaging (it's difficult ngl, but has to be done babe) you then obsess all over again with the palette itself. Like how well does she photograph?! I am self admittedly, probably not the best at product photos but this palette makes me look like a pro! She photographs well from all angles, never misses her mark, love to see it!

I personally loved the heart detailing to the clip which opens the top part of the palette, it just rounds off what they wanted this palette to be. With it being a regal themed palette for me, I get complete "royal seal" vibes from this. The top of the palette is nothing short of incredible- the crowns even float about what the hell!! Honestly, 27 going on 7 when I held this palette and realised the crowns moved hahahaha and I'm not even sorry xo

The protective slip on top of the shadows once again, I've got to give recognition for the attention to detail. It just commands your attention before you inspect the shade range closer up. Not 1 part of this palette - inside nor out - misses the beat it's so well tied together, so beautiful, it's just a total dream.

However, oops... Did I fail to mention that this isn't just 1 palette babe... it's 2 works of art in one!! Yup, she has a whole damn drawer under there...

When you open this beauty up, you know how sometimes outer packaging and boxes can just totally overhype a product? Yeah? Not this time! If anything all the warning signs of good things to come where there and it still didn't prepare me for how beautiful this was going to be. The shade range is phenomenal for the neutral eye-loving gal or someone that just wants to slowly inject a bit of colour without going too far out into the water. The mirror has "See Yourself As The Queen You Are" on it, it's such a feel good palette, it actually cheers you up and makes you smile to just look at it, especially when you start to read all the shade names!

To access the second palette (can you actually believe there is 2 in 1 still?? I definitely didn't realise when I first seen this in the shop window of the bPerfect megastore that they were the same!) you just pull it out like a little drawer effect. The pull out section actually comes right out so can be used as an individual palette without having all the bulk of the main, perfect for quicker looks. The main palette shade wise is more your brown-mustard-yellow neutrals and the pullout section is your brown-peachy-champagne tones so there's definitely a split colour theme between the 2 sections which for me, is perfect as it simplifies all those soon-to-be eye looks.

Every shade has a royal-themed name with an embezzlement on the pan linked to the name to match! The shade "Cinders" has a wee broom on it, it's honestly far too cute.

PALETTE SWATCHES & MY THOUGHTS

Swatching the shimmers, it's incredible how, well... shimmery they are! I feel I should put a disclaimer here that I in no way, shape or sassy form, edited the colours of these photos to make them pop- they really just be like that, babe!

The first picture is what we shall dub the 'main' palette since it is attached to the mirror, and is the brown-mustard-yellow shades I mentioned previously. To match the mattes, you have your brown, copper and gold-toned shimmers in this section which, I think for me, this is the shimmer section I will reach for the most due to how easily styled they are. The golds are absolutely stunning and 'THAT' yellow!! I've not came across a shimmer shade like it before. It's not my usual colour however, seeing how pigmented it is when swatching, I'm now looking for ways to incorporate this into an eye look- ASAP!

From the 'Pull out' palette you can see some brown shimmers to start which then goes into your peach-pinks with a hint of gold. your champagne gold tones and coppery pink shades. These give me brown smokes with a perfect summer twist feels, and are going to be the perfect way to add a bit of easy colour to my lid or for a halo effect eye look. The champagne gold and more whiter gold shades sing to me so much as your gal absolutely LOVES a glistening, highlighted inner corner!

For me, the shimmers in this part of the palette however, do feel slightly similar. The other half of the palettes shimmers' you couldn't mistake 1 for the other as they all have their own identity and are arguably, much more pigmented and bolder however in contrast, I do feel the pull out side is obviously pigmented, there's no denying that! But some shades feel a little same-y.

I have definitely noticed that the browns crumble the most out of the shimmers and are really fragile, so I'd definitely handle those with a bit more care especially if using your finger to pack it on to your lid!

The pull out palette has some really lovely matte transition/crease blending shades within it which I am loving! Out of all the shades though, 'Aristocracy' for me, is my clear winner. The unique tones to it. The bindingness to it and the fact they made it, not just into an amazing shimmer but a really freekin' good one at that, earns it my spotlight shade award!

MONEY TALK & CONS

Now, the fact this palette retails for £47 which to me, is really cheap when you consider palettes from Vieve, Charlotte Tilbury etc that retail at the same price point for much, much less product in numbers. The 'elephant in the room' so to speak, that with this, you are getting, not just one, but two palettes within is insane. P.Louise always have some discounts available as well to save some extra pennies which just adds to how affordable and value for money this palette is! The size of the mirror as well, amazing.

In terms of cons, there isn't many at all. For me, something that bugs me about this is the pull put drawer. Depending on how you are holding this palette, the drawer section easily slides out and for me, and if like me you are the clumsiest person ever, it's definitely a disaster waiting to happen! And as this section doesn't have the same sturdy support as the main palette, it might not look pretty if it did fall. A magnet to keep this part in when you want it to be, would have been a really practical touch.

This one I personally wouldn't say this is a con as such for myself, but could see why it would be for others. If you're someone who likes to use their eyeshadow palette mirrors and this plays a big factor in your eyeshadow purchases, then this may not be your bestie. Due to the bulkiness of the palette, it would make it quite difficult to hold for those full glam eye looks.

And lastly, like previously mentioned above, I wish there was a wee bit more identity in the pull out palette like there is the main however, I still absolutely love the shades!

What are your thoughts on this MOOD of a palette? Is it right up your street? Or is it all aesthetic and no action for you?

Do you own this palette already? What are your thoughts on it so far? Let me know!

But, until next time huns, Stay safe & sassy!
